Our Feathered Friends

Meet the other half of Our family!

Ever since Gloria was young, she has always loved birds and remembers having one ever since she was a small girl. It's funny to look back and see how many childhood pictures that were taken where she had a parakeet sitting on her shoulder.

Kasper & Paco
Kasper & Paco, group hug!

Here is the whole group! In the order shown: Kasper, Paco & Dusty!

Kasper Paco Dusty

Kasper is an Umbrella Cockatoo, and the "Boss"! (At least he seems to think he is!) He likes prancing around the house picking up objects on the floor and dumping them over his head. That's, of course, when he knows I am watching him. Otherwise he is usually getting himself into some kind of trouble, like harassing and teasing the other birds or getting into something he shouldn't be in to.

Paco is a Blue Crowned Conure. He and Kasper like to sit for hours scratching each other's head and preening their feathers. I raised Paco from a baby, hand feeding him. He has quite a vocabulary and is well known for his "Meowing" and "Bucking" like a chicken. Paco likes camping with us in the summer. He likes to watch the people walking around the park!

Dusty Rose is an African Grey Timneh. She is the new 'kid' on the block! Dusty is a whistler and likes to imitate sounds she's heard around the house. She likes imitating the smoke alarm and the house alarm best. She doesn't say many words yet, except "Goodnight" and "Well, Hi!" (which she picked up from Paco) when I go to put the other guys to bed. I think she likes to tease them as she sleeps in a different room and gets to stay up longer!
